How close is closest?
Three things move a contest toward you, each counted on a log scale so the first few matter most and nobody can run away with the board:
- Votes. Ups minus downs. Your first vote already moves a contest; about ten net upvotes is one full step in, and downvotes push it out the same way.
- Real plays today. People starting the game in the last 24 hours, weighted the same as votes. A vote is easy to give. A play means someone wanted in.
- Last call. A small lift in a contest's final 24 hours.
One vote per contest per browser, and a cap per network. Brands cannot buy a place closer to you. Winners are still picked by accuracy, then speed, never by votes.
