Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Contest.Zone (“we,” “us”) collects and uses personal information when you enter a skill-based contest hosted on Contest.Zone. This site is operated by Contest.Zone / operator to be updated post-entity. Questions: contests@contest.zone.
What we collect
- Email address — required to enter a contest and to notify you if you win.
- Name — only if a specific contest asks for it. Contest.Zone does not collect names by default.
- Gameplay data — your answers, scores, and the server-measured time you took, used to rank entries by skill.
- IP address & technical logs — standard infrastructure request logs kept by our hosting providers, and (where enabled) an IP-derived value used only for anti-abuse and rate-limiting — never for advertising.
- Attestation record — that you confirmed you are 18 or older and agreed to the Official Rules and this Policy, with a timestamp.
We do not ask for or store your date of birth. We only record that you attested to being 18 or older.
How your data is shared with the sponsoring brand
Each contest is run by a sponsoring brand (the “Sponsor”). When you enter, your email address and gameplay data are shared with that Sponsor as a lead, so they can contact you about the contest and, where you have agreed, their marketing. The Sponsor’s own use of your data is governed by their privacy policy.
Why we process it
To operate the contest (enter you, score you fairly, select winners by skill, and notify winners), to prevent fraud and abuse, and to comply with law.
Where your data is stored
Contest and entry data is stored in a Neon Postgres database in the United States; the site and its API are served by Vercel. Both providers keep standard technical/security logs of requests to their infrastructure.
Retention
We keep entry data for as long as needed to operate the contest, prevent abuse, and comply with law, and then delete or anonymize it, except where a longer period is required by law or to resolve a dispute.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to or deletion of your personal information at contests@contest.zone.
Children
Contests are for entrants 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has entered, contact us and we will delete the entry.
Changes
We may update this Policy; material changes will be posted here with a new date.
